What is the difference between moccasins and slip-ons?

A slip-on is the general term for shoes that you can easily "slip into." The moccasin is a specific model of slip-on. The names are often used interchangeably in practice, so it is not always clear that they are different shoes.

The moccasin used to be made with a softer, leather sole. In contrast to the standard slip-on, which often had a sturdy, rubber outsole. Today, the moccasin often also has a rubber sole, because it is simply more durable and wear-resistant. However, the sole is often less prominent and more flexible. You will also see a very specific leather flap over the instep and a stitched toe on the moccasin. Sometimes there is a tassel or something similar on the instep.

How do you wear women's moccasins?

Moccasins are actually very easy to style. You mainly wear the shoe in the summer, but sometimes it is also "hip" to wear the shoe in the winter with socks.

In the summer, you wear the shoes casual chic combined with slim-fit or straight-leg, high-waisted jeans and an oversized blazer.

Or combined with a power suit. A beautiful suit for women, in a neutral color or a bright color. Moccasins go very well with this, giving the suit a nice business-like and neat style.

Of course, you can also wear moccasins in a very feminine way, for example in combination with a patterned dress. On colder days, you can wear a blazer or jacket over it.
