What’s the difference between moccasins and slip-ons?

A slip-on is the general term for shoes you simply “slip into.” The moccasin is a specific type of slip-on. In practice, the terms are often used interchangeably, so it’s not always clear that they are different shoes.

Moccasins were originally made with a soft leather sole, unlike standard slip-ons, which often had a sturdy rubber sole. Today, moccasins often also have a rubber sole, as it is more durable and long-lasting. However, the sole is usually less pronounced and more flexible. Moccasins typically feature a leather flap over the instep and a stitched toe. Sometimes a tassel or similar decoration is added on top.

How to style women’s moccasins?

Moccasins are very easy to style. They are mainly worn in the summer, but sometimes it’s “trendy” to wear them in the winter with socks.

In the summer, wear them casual chic with slim or straight high-waist jeans and an oversized blazer.

Or pair them with a power suit – a beautiful women’s suit in a neutral or bold color. Moccasins complement this look perfectly, keeping it professional and polished.

Of course, moccasins can also be styled very femininely, for example with a patterned dress. On colder days, you can add a blazer or jacket.
