The Durea factory was founded in 1913 in Drunen by Gijsbertus van Drunen, and the factory still operates at the same location today. Durea is known for offering a wide range of widths, removable insoles, and an excellent fit. Every Durea shoe is still crafted with traditional methods, and the entire production process takes place in the Netherlands. Each shoe receives meticulous attention during manufacturing.

Durea even has a dedicated “finish” department, complete with a real finish board and professional finish staff. All shoes pass through this final checkpoint for quality control, polishing, adding laces, spraying, or shining before being packed. Durea is so transparent that you can even book a factory tour. How exciting to see how a pair of shoes is made – especially if you’re a loyal Durea fan!
